The atonement was central to the plan of salvation. The resurrection was an essential to break the bands of death. Christ was the first fruits of the resurrection. We have faith in Christ and that we will be resurrected through his power. Divine law is the foundation of organized existence. If divine justice ceased, God would cease. God is justice. Fallen man is in the grasp of justice and justice demands payment, a debt must be paid. The resurrection brought forth glorified bodies from the grave, of flesh and bones. Jesus possessed the power of eternal life and immortality, inherited from his father. Eternal life is the full glory of God. Glory is might, majesty, power, and dominion. Christ had life in him and the power to restore life when all mankind had lost life, the divine nature of the man of holiness. Jesus had power to withhold the manifestation of glory. However, on the road to Damascus, Jesus appeared in glory to Saul. Jesus ministered in power & glory and through his spirit convinced men that he was the messiah. Christ had the power to lay down his life and take it up. Christ manifested his glory unto those who exercise faith and endow them with pure attributes and power of intelligence. Christ withdraws his glory when faith is lacking. Christ had direct communion with the father and learned by obedience to the commandments of the father. Christ was clothed with light, knowledge, power, and glory. Jesus used the powers of the spirit as a shield against temptation. |
