Books : Ancient America and the Book of Mormon ( John Hunter )

(500 hits)

Without the Book of Mormon, we don't have much. The Bible alone is not proof of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is the second witness teaching us about Jesus's mercy, love, and existence. The Book of Mormon is required to support Jesus's ministry, Messiahship, and mercy. The Book of Mormon prophecies are emmense for our day spanning numerous prophecies of Isaiah: the gather of Israel, building of zion, the second coming of Christ, and Idolatry in the last days. The teachings of Isaiah can be likened, teaching emmensely powerful truthes. The Book of Mormon gives a detailed account of Christ visit to the land of Bountiful, after his cruxification where Jesus blesses the children, teaches the beattitudes, and prayers for the people.

The Book of Mormon, in Ether, talks of modern day perils: the constitution compromise, the threat to liberty, and the wars and rumors of wars of our day are all lost without the Book of Mormon. How plain and precious are the teachings of the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is a second witness of Jesus Christ. The book of Mormon proves that God is the same yesterday, today, and tommorow. The Book of Mormon invites all men to come upon Christ.

The Book of Mormon warns against idolatry, combinations to get gain, and demonstrates the interact of God and his prophets, including prophets like Nephi, who possessed similar powers as of Elijah. The Book of Mormon talks about great missionarys, Alma and Amulek, who through teaching the Gospel to the Lamanites caused peace to come into the land similar to the Apostle Paul. The Book of Mormon talks about the destruction of the Jaredites and Mulikites, who fell as a nation caused by a lack of belief in God, and eventually the extinction of the Nephites, after 400 years of peace. The Book of Mormon teaches the reader about the love of God and how to acquire peace. The Book of Mormon demonstrates how power, slavery, and idoliness lead to oppression. Without this witness, the truth of Jesus Christ divinity comes into question. Let the Holy Spirit teach you the truthfuliness of this book. The Book of Mormon was not meant to be proven by archaelogy or history. The Book of Mormon truthfulliness is felt through the promptings of the Holy Spirit. The Book of Mormon is rich in doctrine. The Book of Mormon is also rich in military stradegy and tradegy.

The Jaredites arrived from the East, in Panuco on the Gulf of Mexico, around the time of Tower of Babel, lead by the brother of Jared, who walked and talked with God, crossing the ocean being on the water for 344 days in water tight barges without sails. These people were intellectual giants. The Jaredites experience three major calamities: (Ether 9:6-16) a Great Hurricane, (Ether 9:21-35) Earthquakes and Volcanos, and Complete Destruction (Ether 13,14,15) 299 B.C-236 B.C from war. War caused by secret combinations, whose design is gain leads to annihilation. Around 122 B.C Nephite explorers find the battle grounds of the Jaredites.

The Nephites and Mulekites both departed from Jerusalem. They arrive from the West, around Guatemala. Both groups trace their lineage too the House of Israel. The Nephites depart around 600 B.C, somewhere in Arabia, on the southeastern shores of Arabia, through the Red Sea, in a land called bountiful. In bountiful, they build a ship, so wood was plentiful in this region. I find the names interesting.

Alma and Lemuel are Arabic names, Nephi and Sam are Egyptian names, and Jacob and Joseph are Hebrew names. Tultecas (Jaredites), Nahuas or Nahuales (Nephites), and Ulmecs or Olmecs (Mulekites).

Angel Moroni: "These plates have been revealed by the power of God, and they have been translated by the power of God. The translation of them which you have seen is correct, and I command you to bear record of what you now see and hear."

The historian Sahagu:

1. 385 A.D the people had learned men or prophets among the settlers (Mulekites)

The historian Torquemada:

1. The colonerizers were skilled in ship building (The Hawian legends suggest their ancestory came from across a great water distance. They maintain the journey in their stories.)

2. The Mulekites were dressed in long robes, like Turks, open in the front without capes

3. Stone cravings, in Middle America, confirm the archealogical studies, of this Mulekite dress pattern. Richard MacNeish escavated the archealogical figure.

4. Matt Stirling said, "Both figures wore shoes with odd pointed upturned toes.

The River Sidon

Atoyac river has many similar characteristic to the river Sidon described in the Book of Mormon. It was near the river Sidon the Mulekites encounter Coriantumr, one of the last surviving Jaredites. The Atoyac river empties into the Gulf of Mexico about 10 miles from Vera Cruz.

Mosiah I translated the stone and Mosiah II translated the 24 gold plates of the Jaredites.

Huehuetlapallan seems identical to Zarahemla. The word Zarhemla is hebrew meaning "bountiful plant (seed) land or abounding, overflowing, with seeds plants or grains." Zara means "grain", "seed", or "plant" and Helma means "fully", "overflowing", "abundant",or "bountiful". The Mayan term Tu tul-xiu means "abounding in plants and equivalent to the Hebrew word "Zara-hamullah" or Zarahemla. In 1590, Bernardio de Sahagun discovered the city Tullan which means "place of fertility and abundance"

This city they called Tullan, which means place of fertility and abundance was the place where Quetzalcoatl reigned for many years. The people for generations held to the believe, "he is alive" and that "he is returning" to rebuild the city that was destroyed and thus in 1575, the people awaited him. When Don Fernando Cortez came they thought it was Quezalcoatl and received him as such, until his conversation and that of those that came with Cortez undeceived them.

What do we know about the land of Bountiful? Bountiful was south of the narrow neck of land; it was discovered by the people of Zarahemla, and around 300 B.C Coriamtumr discovered Bountiful.
