Are the Indians an original source of the Egyptian1. Forty two miles up the river from the El Tovar Crystal Canyon is a cave entrance, 2000 feet above the river bed.
2. The main passage is 12 feet wide and narrows to 9 feet, 57 feet from the entrance.
3. The room sizes are 30 by 40 feet square.
4. Over a hundred feet from the entrance is an idol, a Deity sitting cross-legged, with a lotus flower or lily in each hand. The cast of the face is oriental. The Idol resembles Buddha.
5. Other artifacts were found: vases, urns, cups of copper and gold, pottery work including enameled ware and glazed vessels.
6. Some passages lead to granaries found in oriental temples. The granaries are round and filled with various seeds. The materials resemble harden cement.
7. One room was about 40 by 700 feet and probably the main dining hall because cooking utensils were found there.
8. Upwards of 50,000 people could have lived in the caverns
9. The Hopi Indians have legends of their ancestors living in an underworld in the Grand Canyon til dissension arose between the good and the bad.
10. There are two theories of the origin of the Egyptians. One is that they came from Asia; another that the racial cradle was in the upper Nile region. Heeren, an Egyptologist, believed in the Indian origin of the Egyptians.
